Please read this carefully before using Raythinks.

This Disclaimer is important. It describes the nature of the help Ray can give you, and — equally important — what Ray cannot give you. Treating Ray's output as something it is not can cause real harm. This Disclaimer is here to prevent that.


1. What Ray Is

Ray is a decision-intelligence tool. Ray uses artificial intelligence to help you think through decisions in your life by:

  • gathering relevant context about your situation;
  • surfacing considerations you may not have thought of;
  • offering structured analysis grounded in established ethical and analytical principles;
  • offering a perspective that may inform — but does not replace — your own judgement.

Ray is designed to help you think more clearly, not to think for you.


2. What Ray Is Not

2.1 Ray is not professional advice

Ray is not, and must not be relied on as, a substitute for advice from a qualified professional. Specifically:

Ray is not medical, psychiatric, or psychological advice.

If you have a medical question, a mental health concern, a question about medication, a question about treatment, or anything involving your physical or mental health, consult a qualified medical professional. Ray cannot diagnose. Ray cannot prescribe. Ray cannot replace the care of a doctor, psychiatrist, psychologist, or counsellor.

Ray is not legal advice.

If you have a legal question, a dispute, a contractual concern, or anything involving your legal rights or obligations, consult a qualified attorney. Ray cannot give legal advice. Ray cannot represent you. Ray cannot replace the counsel of a practising lawyer admitted in the relevant jurisdiction.

Ray is not financial, investment, accounting, or tax advice.

If you have a financial question, an investment decision, an accounting issue, or a tax matter, consult a qualified financial advisor, accountant, or tax practitioner. Ray cannot give financial advice. Ray cannot recommend specific investments. Ray cannot replace the counsel of a registered financial services provider, accountant, or tax practitioner.

Ray is not religious ruling, fatwa, or spiritual direction.

The Ray product draws on Islamic ethical principles in its design, but Ray does not issue fatwas, religious rulings, or spiritual direction. If you have a question about religious obligation, observance, jurisprudence, or spiritual guidance, consult a qualified scholar in your tradition. Ray cannot replace the guidance of a learned scholar.

Ray is not crisis intervention or emergency services.

If you are in crisis — suicidal thoughts, self-harm, abuse, immediate danger to yourself or someone else, or any emergency — call emergency services immediately. Ray is not a substitute for trained crisis intervention. See section 6 below.

2.2 Ray is AI, not human

Ray is generated by artificial intelligence models. Ray is not a human advisor, therapist, friend, or companion. Ray does not have judgement, intuition, lived experience, or moral standing.

Ray may produce output that sounds confident and human-like. This is a feature of how language models work, not evidence that the output is correct.

2.3 Ray can be wrong

Like all AI systems, Ray can produce output that is:

  • factually incorrect;
  • logically flawed;
  • incomplete;
  • biased in ways that are not immediately obvious;
  • inappropriate to your specific situation;
  • inconsistent across conversations.

Always exercise your own critical judgement. Verify important factual claims with reliable sources. Do not act on Ray's output without considering whether it actually applies to your situation.

2.4 Ray is not your decision-maker

You retain full responsibility for any decision you make. Ray's output is one input among many you might consider. The decision is yours. The consequences are yours.


3. Who Should Not Use Ray

Ray is not appropriate for:

  • anyone under 18 years of age;
  • anyone in acute mental health crisis who needs professional intervention;
  • anyone making a decision that requires professional advice that they have not separately obtained;
  • anyone who cannot accept that Ray is AI and may produce errors;
  • anyone unable to apply their own judgement to Ray's output.

If any of the above describes you or your current state, please do not use Ray, or please pause your use of Ray until those conditions have changed.


4. Use Ray Wisely

Ray works best when you:

  • bring real situations — Ray is designed for real decisions, not entertainment;
  • provide honest context — incomplete or misleading information leads to less useful output;
  • read the output critically — treat Ray's response as one perspective, not the answer;
  • consult professionals for professional matters — Ray is a thinking aid, not a replacement for expert advice;
  • make your own decision — Ray helps you think; you decide.

Ray is unlikely to be useful when you:

  • want someone to validate a decision you have already made;
  • want someone to tell you what to do;
  • are looking for a substitute for human connection;
  • are looking for a substitute for therapy, legal counsel, or financial advice;
  • are testing or trying to manipulate Ray's output;
  • are in acute distress that needs immediate professional support.

5. Limits of Liability

Raythinks (Pty) Ltd disclaims all liability for:

  • decisions you make on the basis of Ray's output;
  • decisions you do not make on the basis of Ray's output;
  • factual errors or inaccuracies in Ray's output;
  • harm resulting from your reliance on Ray's output instead of professional advice;
  • harm resulting from your use of Ray when you should have used professional services;
  • harm resulting from misunderstanding the nature of Ray's output.

The full liability terms are set out in the Terms of Service, which apply to your use of Ray. Nothing in this Disclaimer limits any right you have under South African consumer protection law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

If Ray's safety logic detects indicators of crisis in your conversation, the conversation will pause and you will be shown the resources above. Ray is not a crisis service. Please reach out to one of the resources above if you need real help.
